Based in Ocean Beach, MohaviSoul is an original, soulful contemporary bluegrass band rooted in folk and Americana featuring songwriting and singing of Mark Miller and Randy Hanson, accompanied by Jason Weiss, Orion Boucher, and Dan Sankey. Their debut CD Every Second established their sound, and they expanded the boundaries of contemporary bluegrass with their second CD Blue Diesel, released in late 2013.

"The new CD is named after a song I wrote, which is a very tongue-in-cheek double story about love and something else," says Hanson.

January 2017 found the band working on a new full-length, Home Town Blues, recorded with Ben Moore at Singing Serpent studios and featuring John Mailander.

Their fourth full-length, Live at the 42nd Annual Huck Finn Jubilee, was released in early 2020. It includes three new original songs written by Randy Hanson, Mark Miller, and Orion Boucher, as well as a cover of the Waylon Jennings classic "Lonesome, On’ry and Mean."

In 2021, the band went to Raleigh, NC as an invited Official Showcase Artist for the IBMA Bluegrass Ramble at the annual World of Bluegrass, running September 28 through October 2. Said Hanson, "MohaviSoul is the first SoCal band since the legendary Nickel Creek to be invited to IBMA. We will play two shows at the Bluegrass Ramble and a show with the California Bluegrass Association."

2022 saw the release of Stories & Memories, which collects 13 original songs, from barn burners to ballads, recorded in 2021 at Studio West by producer Ryan Finch. The following year, the band released a single called "PCH-928." According to Randy Hanson, "We also had several performance videos for our MVR record label holiday special for our song 'Fourteen Days' and a cover of 'Whitehouse Road' by Tyler Childers." Both performance videos can be found on YouTube.
