Border Patrol requests San Diego and Imperial Beach Lifeguards for two people holding on to border fence in the water.

08:32 Medical: Lifeguard, emergency and medical units respond to Tower 13 for man with breathing problems. Medical transports patient to Scripps La Jolla.

09:08 Boating: Lifeguard responds to the foot of Ladera St. for a dinghy washed up on shore without any people aboard. Due to access, lifeguard decides to remove later during low tide.

09:55 Swimmer: Lifeguards respond to an intoxicated person in the water at Brighton Ct., Ocean Beach. SD Police are on scene and able to get person out of the water.

10:40 Boating: Lifeguard vessels respond to a 22’ ski boat taking on water in the Mission Bay channel. Lifeguards provide pump out, and Seatow takes over tow.

12:35 Boating: VHF call to lifeguards of a disabled vessel in Quivira Basin. Lifeguard vessel responds and determines vessel’s anchor is holding fine. Disabled vessel awaits commercial assist.

15:11 Cliff: Lifeguard units respond to people on the cliff face at Boundary Line, Blacks Beach. Hikers directed to head back up trail by lifeguards. No assistance needed.

15:24 Cliff: Lifeguards respond to six people stuck in Emerald Cove, but cancel when reporting person reports victims clear themselves.

15:32 Medical: UCSD Police Department calls to report a diabetic emergency on Citizen’s Trail. Emergency, Lifeguard and medical units respond. Engine 9 finds patient on Black Gold Rd. and transports.

16:10 Boating: Lifeguard vessel responds to North Channel Jetty for a Seaforth 22’ sloop on the rocks. Vessel able to free itself before lifeguards arrive on scene.

16:00 Boating: Lifeguard boat and Jet Ski units respond to a disabled vessel, 300 yards off Mission Beach. Jet Ski unit provides tow away from surf and rescue boat tows vessel to Mariner’s Cove.

17:54 Medical: Windansea lifeguards request medics for a 28-year-old male with preexisting heart conditions and is feeling lightheaded. Emergency and Medical respond and transport patient to Scripps La Jolla.

03:51 Swimmer: Border Patrol requests San Diego and Imperial Beach Lifeguards for two people holding on to border fence in the water, screaming for help. Multiple lifeguard units, medical, emergency and helicopter respond. Lifeguards make rescue on one male, age unknown. Other victim makes it back to Mexico side (Per Border Patrol). Rescued victim transported to Scripps Chula Vista.

12:05 Medical: 72 year-old male mechanical fall at 8302 Camino del Oro/Calle Frescota. Patient was C-spine. Medical unit transported patient to Scripps La Jolla.

13:58 Medical: 13 year-old female with back pain at the Shores boat launch. Medical unit transported patient to Scripps La Jolla.

14:11 Boating: Ranger at Cabrillo National Monument reports a catamaran close to the rocks with a person overboard. Multiple lifeguard units, emergency and medical respond. Lifeguard on scene determines that the four persons on board are an experienced group. Boaters given warnings while other resources cancelled.

15:55 Medical: Abdominal pain at Sunset Point Park. Lifeguard and medical respond. Fire handles call. Medical unit transports patient to Scripps La Jolla.

15:59 Swimmer/Cliff: Three jumpers at the Arches (Osprey/Pappy’s Point). Reporting person concerned of their well-being. Lifeguard responds and is unable to locate.

16:02 Medical: 9 year-old male, stingray to foot at Mushroom House. Lifeguard responds and treats patient at scene.

1714 Medical: 21 year-old female unconscious at the foot of Reed Ave. Lifeguard, emergency and medical units respond. Fire handles the call.

May 25

09:23 Medical: Lifeguards respond to a Tourmaline call box call of person hit in the face by their surfboard. Upon arrival, lifeguards determine no further assistance needed.

10:35 Medical: 911 call of a Fisherman stung by a stingray in hand at Leisure Lagoon. Lifeguard, fire and medical units and respond. Patient advised and released.

15:11 Medical: 911 call of someone who fell off the cliff into the water at Wipeout Beach. Bystanders pull victim out of the water and lifeguards and fire respond. Medical transports patient to Scripps La Jolla.

15:18 Boating: 911 call of a capsized vessel in the surf off Ladera St. with two individuals in the water. Lifeguard vessel and Jet unit respond. Sea Tow also on scene and completes tow without further assistance.

May 24

1345 Cliff: 20 year-old female fall in Box Canyon (Cull’s Corner) with compound fracture to right ankle. Multiple lifeguard units, emergency, medical, and helicopter respond. Helicopter extrication necessary due to injury. Patient transported to Scripps La Jolla.

1632 Cliff: 18 year-old female ankle injury on the beach at Park Row. Lifeguards including Jet Ski unit, emergency and medical respond. Patient raised from the beach to the white bridge, then advised and released.

May 23

00:58 Other: Report of a helicopter hovering off Windansea. US Coast Guard advises that it is Border Patrol, clear.

09:10 Medical: Stingray victim at La Jolla Shores. Lifeguard, emergency and medical respond. Patient is advised by medical and treated at the tower.

11:02 Other: Possible shark sighting at Tourmaline. Jet Ski unit searches and is unable to locate.

17:02 Medical: Call reporting sick person at 700 Ventura. Lifeguard, emergency and medical units respond. Medical transports patient to Scripps Mercy.

May 22

05:28 Other: Vehicle driving on the beach, black GMC SUV. SD Police advises it is U.S. Customs, clear.

09:50 Boating: VHF 16 call reporting an abandoned dingy 1000 yards off the South Channel Jetty. Vessel towed to Ops dock.

10:25 Other: Body of a female that appeared to be in her 60’s reported floating face down in Mariner’s Basin. SD Police and Medical Examiner handle.

12:37 Swimmer: 911 transfer form SD Police Department reporting a male exhibiting odd behavior entering the water at Diamond St. Lifeguard responds, all clear.

16:04 Boating: Black catamaran washing into the beach at Young Hall. Lifeguard responds and finds catamaran was used by US Navy for target practice. Lifeguards are working on a plan for salvage.
