County unemployment rate drops in March

We're a full percentage point lower than state’s

March unemployment for San Diego County dropped to 3.2 percent, a full percentage point lower than the overall state rate, according to the California Employment Development Department.

The county gained 3300 nonfarm jobs in March and 27,000, or one percent, from March of last year.

San Diego County’s rate was lower than that of most counties. Ones with lower rates included Alamedia, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Orange, San Francisco, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Sonoma. Northern California is still prospering from the tech boom.
