The internationally recognized improvising trio Jones Jones, with Mark Dresser on bass, Vladimir Tarasov on drums, and Larry Ochs on reeds, plays the Loft (911 Lyman Lane, UCSD) at 8 p.m. with the UCSD Undergrad Ensemble opening. Free concert.

Wednesday 25
Gilbert Castellanos has two gigs at Panama 66 (1450 El Prado) beginning at 6 p.m. when he hosts the Young Lions Series and continuing at 8:30 when he leads the jam session until 11:30. No cover, all ages… The Jazz 88 Blues Jam takes place at Proud Mary’s Southern Bar & Grill hosted by J. Otis Williams and guitarist Mark Augustin from 6:30 p.m. Free and family friendly.

The Lorraine Castellanos Organ Trio with Ed Kornhauser, Bob Boss, and Brett Sanders play Bar Pink (3829 30th) from 10 to 12 p.m. No cover… The Danny Green Trio, with Justin Grinnell and Julien Cantelm, plays Jazz at the Merc (42051 Main Street) at 7:30 p.m. $15 at the door.
