Joshua White will debut his new quintet Saturday night at Dizzy's in P.B.

Tuesday 12
Jazz Live (1313 Park Boulevard) opens the week with a tribute to the iconic pianist Bill Evans, with John Campbell, Darek Oles, and Duncan Moore. This concert begins at 8:00 p.m., but is preceded by a special screening of the Evans documentary Time Remembered at 6:30 p.m. Free to Jazz 88 members, $10 general admission … Nathan Hubbard’s A Thousand Butterflies features Kris Apple, Dillon Casey, Mack Leighton, and Louis Valenzuela play a house concert (3551 Siembre Street, Bonita) from 7:00 p.m. Free, but donations are welcome.

Wednesday 13
The Gabriel Sundy Jazz Trio with Mack Leighton and Matthew Smith play The Studio Door ( 3750 30th Street) at 7:00 p.m. for $5 at the door … the Ian Tordella Trio with Bobby Cressey and Charles Weller play Seven Grand (3054 University Avenue) at 9:30 p.m. No cover charge.

Thursday 14
The Steph Johnson/ Rob Thorsen Duo set up at Croce’s Park West (2760 Fifth Avenue) at 7:00 p.m. No cover.

Friday 15
The Diane Hubka Trio hit the Happy Hour at the Handlery Hotel (950 Hotel Circle North) with Bob Boss and Tommy Aros from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. No cover, no minimum… the Gilbert Castellanos Trio with Joshua White and Rob Thorsen play the Westgate Hotel (1055 Second Avenue) at 8:00 p.m. $20 food/drink minimum.

Saturday 16
The new Joshua White Quintet with Christopher Hollyday, Dean Hulett, Gilbert Castellanos, and Ryan Shaw play Dizzy’s (4275 Mission Bay Drive) at 8:00 p.m. $20 at the door … the Reka Parker Quartet with Stan Lawrence, Jeff Blanco and Bob Daniels play Northern Spirits (727 W. San Marcos Boulevard) at 7:30 p.m. No cover, no minimum.

Sunday 17
The Matt Smith Neu Jazz Trio with Ed Kornhauser and Mack Leighton host the Sunday jam session at 98 Bottle (2400 Kettner Boulevard) from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. No cover, 21+ … the Louis Valenzuela Trio with Mackenzie Leighton and Isaac Crow play Croce’s Park West at 6:00 p.m. for a $10 cover.
