— Overturned kayaks with people in the water at Pt. Loma. Jet 1, R4, USCG Helo and 1Sam responded. Jet 1 assisted a couple into their vessel and the rest of POB made it to shore. All victims accounted for clear.

— MB requested medics for a 47y/o female with a thumb injury. LG U23, E21 and Medic 20 responded. Medic 20 to UCSD.

— 2 missing juveniles on SUP’s from Paradise Point resort. Marine 1 and guardian 1 responded. 11y/o and 14 y/o found by parents.

— 50 y/o male with chest pain, possible heart attack. LG, Fire and Medics respond. Medics on scene will handle; Medic 36 transports to UCSD.

— Jet 1 out of service near the surf at tower 3. Rescue west responded and cleared without incident.

— C-Spine head vs. bottom on a 35 y/o female. LG’s, Fire and medics respond. Patient AMA with Medic 27.

— Heat related illness on the citizen’s trail. 31Sam and Black’s LG’s respond. LG’s clear unable to locate patient.

— 19 y/o male swallowed water at La Jolla Cove. LG’s, Fire and Medics respond. Patient eloped LG’s clear.

— 32 y/o male traumatic injuries from a PWC accident. LG’s, Fire and Medics respond. Hit and run collision with minor injuries. 4Sam handled the VAR and patient AMA with medics.

— 911 call at 1634 De Anza mobile home park for a vessel accident. LG’s, Fire and Medics, SDPD respond. 3 vessels involved. PD will handle vessel accident investigation.

— Medics requested to LJS for a 5y/o female with burns to the bottom of feet. LG’s, Fire and Medics respond. Medic 9 transports patient to UCSD burn center.

— Fainting on a 33y/o female in vehicle behind T-13 at Mission Beach. LG 2 Sam responds and Medic 1. Patient is transported to UCSD.

— Man down at 2145 Avenida de la Playa. LG utility 3 and Medic 9 responds. Units unable to locate patient.

— Unknown medical aid in the turning circle. 42 Sam investigates. 42Sam investigates and no assistance was needed.

July 30

— USCG reports a 17’ Gregor 4 POB taking on water in the La Jolla Cove area. A lifeguard rescue vessel responds. USCG calls back and says the vessel is now clear and underway. Response cancelled.

— Bonita Cove guard reports a 30’ boat anchored near/in the swim zone. A lifeguard rescue vessel responds no POB lifeguards wait for owner to return.

— 911 call for a 7 year old boy with a cut foot at the Ski Beach Playground. A lifeguard rescue vessel responds as well as fire and medics. M-20 transports to Children’s.

— 911 call reporting a vessel beached at Sunset Cliffs. Vessel pulled off by a Good Samaritan, USCG advised.

— 59 year old female with an ankle injury at 800 Coast Blvd. Lifeguards on scene, medics requested. M-9 transports to Scripps La Jolla.

— 50 year old female with difficulty breathing following a swim at La Jolla Cove. M-21 treats patient.

— VHF report of a vessel aground at Sunset Point. A lifeguard rescue vessel responds. Skipper contracts with Vessel Assist for assistance.

— Female fall from bike with a head injury, fire and medics handle.

— Child with a small head injury at the De Anza Dock. Lifeguards treat and parents will provide private transport.

— Complaint of PWC’s not operating counterclockwise in the PWC area in North Pac Passage. A lifeguard rescue vessel responds and gets compliance.

— Disabled vessel with a wrapped prop near Government Island. A lifeguard rescue vessel responds and clears the prop.

— Lifeguards at Wind an Sea request medics for a 42 year old male with back pain after going over the falls. Patient AMA’s with E-13.

— Vessel waving for help off of the Casa. A lifeguard rescue vessel and PWC respond. Vessel assisted by a Good Samaritan and then contracts with Vessel Assist.

— Lifeguards treat a minor with a face injury at the Mission Bay Yacht Club.

— A lifeguard rescue vessel responds to Government Island for a female with a facial injury. Patient treated by lifeguards and will private transport.

— Cliff rescue with injuries at Box Canyon. Northern area cliff response, ladder rescue and patient is transferred to M-35.

— 22’ Runabout near the surf line at Hannamen’s, a lifeguard rescue vessel responds. Vessel heads west and clears itself.

— Disabled PWC off Sunset Cliffs, a lifeguard rescue vessel and PWC respond. Jet-1 has vessel under tow and the lifeguard rescue vessel takes over and tows to the reception dock.

— WC out of fuel in the Kendal Frost Reserve. A lifeguard rescue vessel responds and a private citizen handles.

— Caller concerned with a swimmer 500 meters from shore at Torrey Pines. Lifeguards respond and a lifeguard rescue vessel makes contact with a strong swimmer/clear.

— VHF call from the vessel “Black Pearl” for a male in his 20’s with blood poisoning. A lifeguard rescue vessel meets vessel at the Bait Barge and transport to the Reception Dock to medics. M-14 transports to UCSD.

— Lifeguards, fire and medics respond to Leisure Lagoon for a possible drowning, turns out to be a 16 year old female who fainted after receiving a minor scrape to her thigh. Minor med aid on scene/clear.

— Lifeguards respond to an ankle injury in La Jolla, treated on scene and self-transports.

— PWC on the rocks at the tip of Point Loma. Lifeguards respond and the PWC is assisted by a Good Samaritan.

San Diego Lifeguards are a 24 hour rescue agency whose responsibilities include water rescue, boat rescue, marine fire suppression, coastal cliff rescue, underwater search and recovery, swift water and flood search, rescue and emergency medical response. San Diego Lifeguards also handle enforcement of city, state and federal laws and regulations. Lifeguards are classified as peace officers with the power of arrest.
