Unplanned million

Big military contractors and related Navy ship-building businesses spent more than $1 million to defeat the Barrio Logan community plan last year, according to a February 2 campaign disclosure statement. The No on B & C committee, backed by major money from National Steel and Shipbuilding, owned by General Dynamics, and British defense giant BAE, ended the year with $28,400 of cash in the bank after laying out $1,000,790. $52,387 was still owed to San Francisco’s Sutton Law Firm.

Duane Dichiara and Jason Roe, top campaign consultants to Kevin Faulconer, got $18,000 from the successful city council campaign of the mayor’s fellow Republican Chris Cate, says a recently filed disclosure.
