La Jolla surgeon slated to lose license

Dr. Timothy G. Canty, Sr. of La Jolla will lose his physician's and surgeon's license June 17 if the executive director of the Medical Board of California agrees with negligence accusations filed by the attorney general of California.

Canty and his lawyer have signed a stipulated surrender of license and disciplinary order. Dr. Canty did not contest that a prima facie case had been made against him.

The board's Department of Consumer Affairs filed charges of repeated negligent actions dating back several years.
