A Haunted House 2

A little over an hour after watching Marlon Wayans demystify Fox5’s Raoul Martinez’s Clark Kent complex found me poolside at the W waiting to speak with a member of one of comedy’s reigning royal families.

After chasing a plate of something very healthy-looking with a piece of sugar free spearmint gum, Wayans gave me a cue to fire up the MacBook.

Rest assured that the Weinstein’s plunder of the Scary Movie franchise came up, as did his collaboration on Part 2 with anencephalic performance artist extraordinaire, Lester "Beetlejuice" Green.

In this case, it was easier to meet the film’s writer/director/producer/star than it was watching his latest creation. Open Road Films was good enough to place Wayans on a cross-country promotional tour, while refusing to screen the film ahead of time for the press. Wayans is very forthcoming about the drubbing his films receive and why in his case, out of sight, out of mind may be the best approach as far as critics are concerned.

Wayans ends with a list of films to bone up on before watching them get savaged in A Haunted House 2. See you all first show Friday morning.
