F is for Funding: F Street Owner Alma Vasic Comes Through for Toni Atkins

Alma Vasic, owner of F Street Corporation, which runs the adult bookstore chain and website by the same name, contributed $2500 to Democratic assembly candidate Toni Atkins on October 11, according to state filings. The company’s motto is “Helping the art of intimacy since 1974.” According to its website, “Ms. V has gained a vast amount of knowledge and experience working with the top manufacturers that F Street has proudly represented for over 35 years. She is dedicated in providing her customers with information & education regarding products that stimulate the sensuality of pleasure and satisfaction for men, women and couples. Allow Ms. V to help you enhance your fantasies!” Vasic inherited the firm from her husband, who started as a bouncer at a downtown adult bookstore; he died of AIDS…San Diego–based Jack in the Box, where Jerry Brown’s wife Anne Gust was until recently on the board of directors, has given the Democratic gubernatorial hopeful $5000. SeaWorld gave $1000. Financially troubled San Diego defense attorney Kerry Steigerwalt is listed as giving $10,000.
