“In hindsight,” says MTS Spokesman Ellen Speed, “it may have been a mistake to fire Public Relations specialist Grecia Figueroa on the same day Nathan Fletcher announced his bid for state senate, especially given the nature of the relationship between Fletcher and Figueroa, and Fletcher’s position as chairman of the MTS board. Also in hindsight, it may have been a mistake to let Ms. Figueroa head up our new ad campaign urging people to make use of San Diego’s excellent public transit system.”
