Local living historians mark anniversary of 1/6

Crisis Re-enactors

A man calling himself the QAnon Shameless frolics in the fountain outside the County Administration Building in commemoration of the January 6 riot at the Capitol. Said Shameless: “Vice President Harris compared 1/6 to 9/11 and D-Day. I prefer to compare it to Gettysburg and Shiloh. The Twin Towers and Pearl Harbor? Those were surprise attacks, and we didn’t have time to fight back. Not right away anyway. But 1/6 was a battle, a battle between our brave Capitol Police and the mad hordes seeking to overthrow the United States government without firing a shot. Or something like that. Mark my words: re-enactors like me will be marking this day for years to come — with horned hats, with podiums, and oh yes, with Q. We think it’s the best way to honor the memory of this historic day. Definitely better than having the cast of Hamilton show up to sing a song.”
