La Jolla Symphony performs Verdi's masterpiece

The La Jolla Symphony is doing Verdi’s Requiem this weekend. If you happen to be reading this and have never been to a live performance of the Requiem then I would say there is nothing more important for you to do this weekend.

What could possibly trump Verdi’s Requiem? Unless you are having a lifetime event such as the birth of a child or the death of a parent then you should go.

Oh, you have a wedding to attend? You’re in luck. There’s a Friday night concert.

You have the ubiquitous “girl’s night out?” Take the girls to the Verdi Requiem. Duh.

There’s an important sporting event on TV, aka March Madness? DVR it, dummy.

The tickets cost too much? A ticket to this event costs less than a Long Island Ice Tea at The U.S. Grant. That’s no exaggeration. Some of the tickets cost less than seeing a movie in IMAX.

Enough with the excuses. If you don’t go to this concert, you will be missing out. Missing out on what? Some of the greatest music written by one of the greatest composers performed by what I’m guessing will be about 150–200 local musicians.
