Two dolphins jumped straight at us

Four years ago, Jay Mryenovich moved from Chicago to San Diego so that he could live by the ocean. He then started surfing.

“I took one lesson and then pretty much just went out on my own,” he explained.

The 29-year old usually surfs at Scripps because it is more of a challenge then the surf at Pacific Beach.

“It’s better when it’s not crowded, but I mean you can always find a good spot,” he said.

In April, “about a 6-7 foot giant set comes in, and these two dolphins are riding it in and jumped literally straight at us, and landed about five feet in front of the surface.”
