September 24

— 09:44 Medical: Lifeguard requests medics to 3141 Ocean Front Walk for a 50y/o male possible OD, LG already has PD in route. Medic transports to unknown location.

— 12:42 Medical: 52y/o male with large laceration to the head from a surfing accident at Tourmaline. Lifeguard requests medics. PT transported to Sharp.

— 13:20 Medical: 85y/o female possible stroke at Ensenada Ct. Fire on scene handling call.

— 13:23 Medical: 27y/o male with a leg injury at 600 Grand. Patient self-transports and lifeguards clear.

— 13:33 Medical: 41y/o male with a head laceration from a surfing accident at the Scripps Tower. Medics transport PT to Scripps La Jolla.

September 23

— Enforcement: Call of a nude white male in the bathrooms at Mission Beach. LG unit responds and is UTL on anyone meeting the description.

— Medical: Chest pain at the southern bathrooms at mission beach on a 52y/o male. LG’s, Fire and medics respond. Medic transports patient to Scripps Memorial.

— 11:09 Swimmer: 1 male 1 female calling for help in the water at sunset cliffs (Garbage). LG’s including jet unit and SDFD respond. Victims rescued by LG wet seat and Jet unit. Fire and medics cancelled.

— 17:37 Medical: Traumatic injury at 900 Fiesta Island Rd. LG’s and medics respond. Medics transport to Scripps La Jolla.

— 17:26 Swimmer/Medical: 50’s female possible aspiration following a water rescue. LG’s, fire and medics respond. Medic transports patient to Scripps La Jolla.

September 22

— 11:18 Medical: Male with a dislocated shoulder at 700 Oceanfront Walk and Santa Clara Pl. Lifeguards, emergency and medics respond. Patient transported to Scripps La Jolla.

September 21

— 06:58 Medical: Possible overdose at Dusty Rhodes park on a 40y/o female. Lifeguards, emergency, medics and SDPD respond. Fire arrives on scene and handles the call.

— 13:00 Boating: Tire in the water creating a navigational hazard at South Pac passage. Lifeguard boat units respond and retrieve the tire with a davit.

— 14:45 Enforcement: 2 PWCs reported inside the surf at NPB. Lifeguards, rescue and jet unit respond. Rescue unit cites and releases PWC operators.

September 20

— 00:27 Boating: Vessel aground at the South Channel Jetty. 911 and VHF calls of vessel La Mer on the rocks. Rescue responds and USCG is updated with information. POB rescued and vessel is towed to Reception Dock to arrange haul out.

— 04:38 Swimmer: SDPD requests Lifeguards to help get a swimmer from the water. The location is the foot of Saratoga cross Abbott. Lifeguard unit and multiple PD units respond. Lifeguards coax person to beach and SDPD arrests the individual.

September 19

— 10:44 Boating: Lifeguards respond to a vessel listing and possibly taking on water near the bait barge. Vessel in question not taking on water

— 10:56 Swimmer: Lifeguards respond to something floating in water off Mushroom House at Blacks Beach. Lifeguards confirm it is a buoy.

— 12:45 Medical: Lifeguards respond to a 45y/o male with a medical issue at 3231 Mission Blvd. Fire and Medics respond. Fire handles.

San Diego Lifeguards are a 24 hour rescue agency whose responsibilities include water rescue, boat rescue, marine fire suppression, coastal cliff rescue, underwater search and recovery, swift water and flood search, rescue and emergency medical response. San Diego Lifeguards also handle enforcement of city, state and federal laws and regulations. Lifeguards are classified as peace officers with the power of arrest.
