Gilbert Castellanos begins the first of two gigs at Panama 66 (1450 El Prado) at 6 p.m. when he hosts the Young Lions Series featuring the 9 a.m. class of the International Academy of Jazz on the patio before heading indoors to the Copley Auditorium at 8:30 p.m. to lead the jam session. All ages, no cover, no minimum.

Trumpeter Gary Rich leads a trio with Jason Shattil and Antar Martin at Harbor Music Hall (1506 India Street) at 7:30 p.m. Jam session to follow.
