October 29

— HP responded to a vessel collision in the Kona Kai Marina. The collision occurred between a small fishing vessel that was attempting to leave the marina. During this process, the vessel struck another small vessel that was docked. There were no injuries and the damage was minimal.

October 28

— HP responded to a vessel collision within the G Street Mole (Commercial Fishing Vessel Marina). HP conducted the investigation for a fishing vessel that was in the process of docking when the vessel’s electronics went out. The vessel then lost control and struck another fishing vessel that was docked. Major damage occurred and no one was injured.

— HP located a dinghy that was adrift near the Coronado Bridge. Due to the hazard to navigation the vessel was impounded at the Harbor Police Impound dock.

October 24

— HP responded to Americas Cup Harbor to investigate an environmental incident where a commercial fishing vessel’s fuel line broke. The vessel’s bilge pump then dispersed fuel into the water causing a large sheen. Contract companies and the vessel’s crew worked to block and clean the spill. Notifications were made to all regional environmental agencies.

October 19

— HP responded to a vessel moored along Shelter Island. The subject aboard that vessel had located his stolen dinghy and requested that it be removed from the stolen system.

October 16

— HP responded to the area near the B. Street Cruise Ship Pier for a person that was asleep on a bench and then fell into the water while sleepwalking. HP vessel patrol rescued the person as he was holding on to a piling. The subject was then transported to the hospital and treated for possible hypothermia.
