Jimmy Choos now vacant

Pac-Arts’ Lee Ann Kim retires

Lee Ann Kim

On a sad note for local film-lovers, Lee Ann Kim, the founder and Queen Mother of the Pacific Arts Movement and the San Diego Asian Film Festival, has decided to “transition out” of her role as of April 8.

Her farewell post on the Pac-Arts website says it all. After a 16-year run, Kim has chosen to “redirect my personal priorities toward my family, especially my children. A new role awaits me at home — to be the kind of wife and mother that I have never taken the time to be. With two 10-year-old boys, I could think of no more important service to my community than to raise them as compassionate, humble leaders. This will be my new focus and my new full-time job.”
