Suspicious abandoned Jet Ski found drifting near border

— Vessel broke it’s rudder in the turning basin and called in on VHF 16. Rescue 3 on scene and towed to its slip at Marina Village.

— Vessel dragging anchor in Mariner’s Basin. Rescue 1 meets with RP. RP will contact RO and hold vessel until RO gets there to take over possession.

— Coast Guard Auxiliary reports a possible fuel spill near Seaforth Landing at Marina Village. 4Sam investigates and nothing found.

— Navigational hazard in the water near Riviera Shores. Large floating log. 911 transfer call from SDPD. Reporting party states large log floating 15ft off shore. Rescue vessel responds. Unable to locate.

— Tourmaline call box call of a 30 year old male with cut over eye from a surfing accident. 21Sam and Unit 25 respond. Minor medical aid. Treat and release.

— 911 call. 81 year old male with back injuries at Ivanhoe and Prospect in La Jolla. Engine 9, Medic 9, 3Sam and Unit 36 respond. Fire handles.

— Naked 5150 male on the beach at Nazarene College. 1Sam initiates a southern area cliff response. SDPD at scene formulating a plan to get person up the cliff. No technical extrication needed. Patient released to PD for CMH run.

— Small skiff lost engine overboard and is disabled off Campland. Rescue 3 responds and tows to the dock.

— Medics requested by Unit 12 for a dislocated shoulder at Ocean Beach while playing volleyball. Medic 21 transports patient to Balboa.

— Leg injury on a 52 year old female at the Clam by Sanctuary Cove. 3Sam establishes command. Lifeguards and Fire extricate patient. Medics take patient to her car and go clear.

— 69 year old male shortness of breath at Brighton St. Unit 12 and Engine 15 respond. Engine 15 AMA’s the patient.

— Paddler in duress outside the surf south of Windansea at Mira Monte Place. 3Sam and Unit 32 respond to the RP. Once on scene they report the paddler is clear surfing north Birdrock.

— 67 year old woman fell from her bike at San Fernando Place. Lifeguards respond with fire. Patient transported to UCSD.

— 75 year old female fell on the beach is oriented X4 and breathing. North Pacific Beach Lifeguards respond with 21Sam. Patient transported to Scripps La Jolla.

— Boat near the surf line off of Sunset Cliffs at Indicators. Lifeguards on scene and cancel rescue vessel due to the fact that the boat is clear.

— 17 year old female with a possible dislocated knee at the southern comfort station at Mission Beach. Lifeguards on scene with fire; patient transported to Scripps La Jolla.

— An abandoned Jet Ski was located near the border by a fishing vessel. The Captain of the vessel salvaged the submerged Jet Ski and delivered it to the Harbor Police. The USCG, CBP and Harbor Police are looking into the suspicious incident.

— 67 yr male with difficulty breathing at 1500 Quivira Way. 4Sam on scene and treat until BLS transport.

— 58 yr male with hip pain walk up to OB lifeguards. Medic 20 to UCSD.

— Swimmers in distress at La Jolla Cove. Lifeguards assist swimmer in hole and await rescue boat on outside due to size and visibility. Multiple La Jolla units respond and IC was initiated.

— Surfer in distress off Crystal Pier. 3King and Rescue vessel respond. Surfer made it to shore on his own.

San Diego Lifeguards are a 24 hour rescue agency whose responsibilities include water rescue, boat rescue, marine fire suppression, coastal cliff rescue, underwater search and recovery, swift water and flood search, rescue and emergency medical response. San Diego Lifeguards also handle enforcement of city, state and federal laws and regulations. Lifeguards are classified as peace officers with the power of arrest.
