Hispanic entrepreneurs do best in Texas

A study by WalletHub, which prepares statistics on cities, metro areas, and states, indicates that San Diego and its nearby cities are not particularly good places for Hispanic entrepreneurs.

Cities were ranked on two metrics: Hispanic business-friendliness, such as percentage of businesses owned by Hispanics, five-year survival rate of business, startups per capita, small business loans, and average office rent; and, Hispanic purchasing power, including affordability, Hispanic unemployment, and percentage of Hispanics with at least a bachelor's degree.

Out of 150 cities, San Diego ranked 108. Oceanside ranked 92nd and Chula Vista 69th. The three highest-ranking cities were all in Texas: Laredo, El Paso, and Corpus Christi.
