No hard drive, no sex neither

Supervisory Border Patrol agent Armando Gonzalez pleaded guilty in federal court today (May 14) to video voyeurism and lying to cover up the crime. He admitted to placing a hidden camera in the floor drain of the women's restroom at the Chula Vista Border Patrol station.

The camera captured images of private parts of female employees at the station. Gonzalez also admitted that when Border Patrol officials confronted him about the camera, he lied to cover up his activities. He claimed he had placed the camera in the bathroom to conduct a drug investigation. He also destroyed or discarded the hard drive from the computer that he used to edit the videos.

Gonzalez, who lives in El Cajon, will be sentenced August 17 at 9 a.m. before U.S. District judge Roger Benitez. Gonzalez could get five years for making false statements, and one year for each of the seven counts against him for video voyeurism.
