— Lifeguards respond to an injured surfer at tide-pools in Point Loma. Fires, Medics, and SDPD also respond. Medics transport to Scripps La Jolla.

— Lifeguards respond to medical aid behind PB restrooms. Fire and Medics also respond. Medics transport patient to Scripps La Jolla.

— Lifeguards on scene to a 38 yr old male with leg pain at 1950 Abbott. Fire and Medics respond. Medics transport patient to UCSD Medical.

— HPD responded to a call of a sailboat that someone had tied off to the G Street Pier. It was found that several subjects tied off the boat to the pier and then were immediately picked up by an awaiting vehicle. Harbor Police have information about this and are currently investigating.

— 911 call to check the welfare of 5 surfers at Sunset Cliffs, AB and SUB area. Rescue 5 and 1Sam respond, determined no assistance needed at this time.

— Regular caller to SDLG dispatch about the welfare of a boogie boarder at Nautilus St. and how he is going to exit the water. 3Sam and Unit 32 respond. Boogie boarder is clear on shore when they get there.

— 911 call of surfers stuck outside of Radars due to high tide at Sunset Cliffs. Surfers clear by riding waves in.

— Call box call of a surfer stuck in a rip current at AB. Jet 1 and 1sam respond. Jet 1 on scene and confirms that the surfer is clear.

— Mobile Dispatching Computer of a back injury at Campland at A11. Marine 3 is in service and tries to get to the Marina but the tide is too low. Marine 3 disregards and lets SD Fire handle.

— SDFD call of abdominal pain at Law St. U25 responds, reports fire is already on scene and cancels.

— Call box call of 3 surfers trapped inside the point at Pappy’s Pt. at Sunset Cliffs. 2 more surfers of the group were missing. Pappy’s IC is established and a southern area response is requested along with Copter 2. Rescue 5, Jet 2, Copter 2 search for the missing 2 surfers. 1Sam and fire set up a rescue system to perform a cliff rescue on the 3 trapped on the cliff. Medic determines one of the surfers has a head injury and needs c-spine precautions. 2 missing surfers found climbing up the cliff into the parking lot, safe and no injuries. A 3 person cliff rescue is performed. The injured surfer is transported to UCSD. All surfers safe with no further injuries, all units clear.

— Lifeguards respond to vessel aground near Bahia Hotel. Lifeguards clear with R.O. claiming vessel.

— Lifeguards respond to vessels listing/ aground in Mariners. Both vessels occupied by owners who will take of their vessels.

— Lifeguards respond to 2599 Quivira for 58yr old male with back pain. Medics respond and transport.

— Lifeguards respond to a vessel dragging anchor in Santa Barbara. Lifeguards impound vessel.

— Lifeguards respond to vessel on rocks at Islandia Point. Vessel clears on own without lifeguard aid.

— Lifeguards respond to body found at Dyke Rock. SDPD also responds for investigation. Lifeguards confirm decomposed body and SDPD handles.

— HPD was called to locate a couple of dinghies that were adrift near the center channel of San Diego Bay. Both boats were found and stored at the HPD dock.

— MDC reporting cardiac arrest in a motor home on Fiesta Island. 4-Sam and a lifeguard rescue vessel respond, fire and medics already on scene and handling.

— A walk up report to 1-Sam reporting a surfboard on the rocks in the Rockslides area of Sunset Cliffs prompts a search of the area. A lifeguard rescue vessel and Jet-2 respond to the area and are unable to locate anything other than the surfboard.

— OB guards make a water rescue on a surfer who was wrapped up on a pier piling. Patient evaluated by medics on shore and AMA’s.

— Multiple 911 calls for reporting two surfers waving for help at Osprey. 1-Sam, Jet-2 and a lifeguard rescue vessel respond. Jet-2 makes a water rescue on the intermediate and transports to the beach at no surf. The lifeguard rescue vessel picks up two surfers on the outside and transports back to the operations dock.

— 911 caller states CPR in progress on vessel near west of Fiesta Island. It is determined that Scripps rescue divers are doing training.

— Multiple 911 calls for reporting two surfers waving for help at Osprey. 1-Sam, Jet-2 and a lifeguard rescue vessel respond. Jet-2 makes a water rescue on the intermediate and transports to the beach at no surf. The lifeguard rescue vessel picks up two surfers on the outside and transports back to the operations dock.

— 911 caller states she saw a surfer on the outside between Young Hall and Garbage who appeared to be having difficulties. Several lifeguard and fire units respond as well as Copter-2. A lifeguard unit at Young Hall has a second RP contact him reporting his buddy is missing. Original caller calls back and now reports she is at the Ladera parking lot, 4-L meets with RP and based on information determines that the original call is clear. After Copter-2 searches the area a surfer is located between the cliff and water south of 33’s. Copter-2 inserts medic and the victim is hoisted and dropped off on Woodward Rd. Medics evaluate and clear the patient and a lifeguard unit transports back to his vehicle at Ladera.

— HPD responded to a sailboat in LA Playa Cove that was dragging its anchor and nearly hit several other vessels.

San Diego Lifeguards are a 24 hour rescue agency whose responsibilities include water rescue, boat rescue, marine fire suppression, coastal cliff rescue, underwater search and recovery, swift water and flood search, rescue and emergency medical response. San Diego Lifeguards also handle enforcement of city, state and federal laws and regulations. Lifeguards are classified as peace officers with the power of arrest.
