The short-term rental giant has already retained the services of Republican Bob White’s California Strategies and hired ex–Mark Fabiani partner Chris Lehane as its influence chief. As a close friend of GOP mayor Kevin Faulconer and the president of Faulconer’s One San Diego nonprofit, Young is expected to get a thorough hearing on the merits of the embattled San Francisco company.

Another busy San Diego lobbyist is Dan Hom, whose Focuscom, Inc. now represents CGI of Sacramento, an outfit that sells data-processing systems to governments. Hom’s duties for the firm include “introduction of city officials to CGI,” according to a November 2 disclosure filing. In addition, he has been spreading some of his wealth to local politicos, including a donation of $2500 to the county Republican Party.
