Whatever you do, don’t slow those nags down next Monday night when all horse-drawn carriages lead to Landmark’s Ken Cinema for the San Diego Opera’s deluxe benefit presentation of the Marx Bros. godsend, A Night at the Opera.

The merriment begins at 8 pm. If the mayor shows up clutching a long speech, I’ll be the first to rip it up. Admission is free, but make sure to line the collection plate with some green on your way out. Tell rich Aunt Minnie if she’s willing to drop $20 on an NT Live presentation at the Gaslamp, surely she can afford twice that amount for 35mm Marxes.
