Pendleton "Godfather" gets two years

Took more than $100,000 in bribes

Natividad Lara "Nate" Cervantes, the so-called "Godfather" of Camp Pendleton, was sentenced to two years in prison today (July 25) for accepting more than $100,000 in bribes from contractors seeking millions of dollars of military contracts. Cervantes had pleaded guilty in January.

Cervantes, a supervisor at Camp Pendleton, was arrested in an FBI sting in which he accepted a $10,000 bribe.
