Cult DIY rocker Gary Wilson, soon to play Poland’s Off Festival, has a new seven-inch out this week: “Sea Cruise” b/w “I Just Want to Hold You in My Arms Tonight,” both from his upcoming Rita Records album Alone with Gary Wilson.

The Shambles’ version of the Raspberries’ “Might as Well” appears on a new Australian Zero Hour Records re-issue of the Raspberries tribute album Preserved.

Electronic duo Bruin will debut their D’nelian album on March 1 at the Soda Bar in City Heights, with its title track now streaming online. Carnifex’s fifth heavy metal full-length, Die Without Hope, drops March 4 courtesy of Nuclear Blast Records; Little Hurricane’s second album, Gold Fever (recorded at an old stone apple house in Julian) hits the same day via Death Valley Records.

Hills Like Elephants’ Bedroom Colonies Volume 1 EP premieres March 8 at the Casbah. That same evening, Lisa Sanders will perform with Doug Pettibone from the John Mayer Band when she introduces her new Shiver CD at Queen Bee’s in North Park. “We’ll be having a VIP meet-and-greet at 6 p.m. for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres,” she says.

On March 11, Action Andy & the Hi-tones are re-releasing their High and Lonesome album on red vinyl, for an edition limited to 300 copies and featuring a bonus cover song, the Seeds’ “Pushin’ Too Hard.”

Mannequin Vanity Records have a label-roster compilation set to launch on March 12 at the Soda Bar, where contributing duo MohaviSoul will perform.

Free-jazz composer/percussionist Nathan Hubbard will premiere volume three of Encinitas and Everything After on March 30 at the Taoist Sanctuary in University Heights.

A release party for Wishing for Boredom, the sophomore full-length from Roger!, happens March 22 at Rosie O’Grady’s in Normal Heights. According to band mainman Ernie Garcia, “The night will feature all players from the recording that are not proper members of Roger!, including Jay Chu on violin and Ritchie Orduno on guitar.”

The debut self-titled solo album from star bassist Nathan East drops March 25 from Yamaha Entertainment Group, with its first single “Daft Funk” already released to radio. Guest players include Eric Clapton, Sara Bareilles, Ray Parker Jr., Michael McDonald, and East’s 13-year-old son Noah on piano.
