Zombies (with links to Lincoln Club and Faulconer) attack Nathan Fletcher

PAC's disclosure lacks digits, but the names tell the tale

On June 21, a zombie from The Walking Dead became a Nathan Fletcher follower, presumably for his appealing gray matter.

It is unsure whether a new political action committee named "Zombies for Responsible Government Opposing Nathan Fletcher for Mayor 2013" will implement late-night scary phone drives, send mailers, or go door-to-door in a precinct walking dead effort.

One thing is certain: the newly formed political action committee will soon begin attacking the former GOP assemblymember turned Independent mayoral candidate turned Democratic mayoral candidate.

A disclosure filed with the city clerk's office reveals that David Bauer of Sacramento set up Zombies for Responsible Government Opposing Nathan Fletcher for Mayor 2013 on October 24. Bauer serves as treasurer for a number of Republican-friendly groups, including the Sacramento Valley Lincoln Club.

Absent from the disclosure is a direct phone number for the committee, Bauer, or Matthew Johnson, the other officer named on the October 24 filing. Johnson is listed on the LinkedIn social media site as an assistant media buyer for Gateway Media Group, the same group responsible for purchasing television ads for Fletcher's opponent Kevin Faulconer.

The reason for naming the group after the walking dead is not certain. One can speculate it may have something to do with an appearance Fletcher made at a Padres game when he threw the opening pitch to a cast member of the popular Walking Dead television series.

The Lincoln Club has set out on a mission to slaughter Fletcher's candidacy since he announced his decision to run for mayor to replace Bob Filner. The local chapter of the Lincoln Club has spent tens of thousands of dollars on negative ads aimed at discrediting the candidate.
