Casey Kasem, the voice of Scooby Doo, suck-up extraordinaire on The Jerry Lewis Telethon, and the one man who can count backwards better than all others has been absent from the limelight for some time now.

Casey, 81, and Jean, his wife of 33 years, were both MIA from the Telethon long before the MDA pulled the plug on Jerry. Now we know why.

Advanced Parkinson's has kept Casey out of the public eye for some time. The reason this is now going public is due to a nasty family feud that's erupted between blonde Frankenstein, Jean, and Casey's three kids from a previous marriage.

After trying unsuccessfully to see their father for three months, Kasem's daughter, Juile, filed a petition last week seeking temporary conservatorship. According to the *AP*, it accuses the second Mrs. Kasem of prohibiting the three siblings "from seeing their father and preventing them from making decisions about his medical care."

TMZ reports that on October 1, the three children, along with friends, family, and former co-workers stood outside Kasem's home in the exclusive Holmby Hills area near Beverly Hills. Jean called the cops in to break things up.

Earlier today, Judge Roy Paul ruled in favor of Jean citing no "urgent need" to intervene in Kasem's affairs. This came after a court-appointed attorney informed Paul "the ailing radio host is receiving adequate medical care for advanced Parkinson's disease."

Kerri assured TMZ it's not about money. It's no secret that Jean saw to it that the kids were cut out of the will ages ago. All they're asking for is a chance to see their father before it's too late.
