Super Buffet’s May 31 record-release show at Bar Pink will have vinyl records. “We decided to simply re-use old, unwanted records by other bands,” Pete Bayard tells the Reader. “We redecorated the records with our artwork [and] download codes for our own new songs.”

When the Crocodiles release their third full-length, Endless Flowers, on June 4, they’ll be doing several European dates, including Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, and a June 7 gig onboard a Royal Princess cruise ship in London.

On Wednesday, June 13, Scott Mathiasen debuts a new album (on local Blindspot Records) at Eleven, with Austialian power-poppers the Stanleys also on the bill.

Santee hard rockers Circle 7 drop their full-length, In Between, on June 15 at the Second Wind.

Early ’80s garage band Mystery Machine recently reunited to record four tunes with Carl Rusk, Ray Brandes, Mark Zadarnowski, David Klowden, and Dave Fleminger subbing for Bill Calhoun. On June 20, Fleminger’s own chamber-pop group, the Comeuppance, will release an eponymous full-length (also on Blindspot), featuring a lineup that includes Thomas Ward (the Amandas) and Paul Brewin (Uncle Joe’s Big Ol’ Driver).

On June 23 at the Pier View Pub in Oceanside, Scottie “Mad Dog” Blinn’s Black Market III (featuring 23-year-old drummer Haley Allen) will debut a new CD of originals and covers of Tom Waits, Hank Williams Sr., Leadbelly, and others.

Danielle LoPresti is working on a solo full-length of electronic chill music called House of D. “This music is along the lines of Zero 7, Massive Attack, and Portishead,” she says.

Reverend Stickman is recording a full-length with co-producer Bob Bartosik on the SDJazz label. “This album moves in the blues/jazz direction while remaining true to Reverend Stickman’s eclectic roots,” says the Reverend.

As I Lay Dying is recording a full-length with producer Bill Stevenson (former drummer for the Descendents and Black Flag) before embarking on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival with Devil Wears Prada, Slipknot, and Motörhead, running June 30 through August 5.
