County of San Diego Seeks Hot Wheels
The County of San Diego is in the market for some brand-new cars, including a 2010 Dodge Challenger SE, which the Yahoo! auto site says lists at $23,345; it’s a muscle car touted by its maker as the “Reigning King of the asphalt jungle.” According to a request for quotation issued September 16, the vehicle is to come with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine and five-speed automatic transmission. In addition, it should be equipped with a “130 Media Center,” including a CD player and an mp3 radio, along with 17-inch aluminum wheels. The color should be “dark titanium metallic clear coat with dark slate gray interior.”
Other cars on the County shopping list include a 2011 Ford Edge SE with 3.5-liter V-6 engine, listed at $27,000, and a 2010 Nissan Altima with a radiant silver exterior and a charcoal cloth interior. A County spokeswoman says the vehicles will be used by the sheriff’s department. For its part, the City of San Diego has been shopping around for nine BMW police motorcycles.
