Bridgepoint Education, Inc., the controversial private schools outfit, was spreading the campaign cash around this election season. (sponsored by San Diego–Imperial Counties Labor Council AFL-CIO) dumped $10,000 into the Eighth District city council campaign of Felipe Hueso and $20,000 into a labor effort for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown…Donations to Democratic assembly candidate Ben Hueso included $5000 from Sempra Energy; $1000 from booze distributor Diageo-Guiness USA Inc.; and a total of $4940 from developer James McMillanLiz Saidkhanian, former field representative for ex–GOP assemblyman George Plescia and former government affairs coordinator with the San Diego Association of Realtors, is now at Ledford Enterprises, the new lobbyist for Allied Waste’s bid to take over the City-owned Miramar dump.
