Money where the mouths are

San Diego County Taxpayers Association president Lani Lutar, a big advocate of outsourcing City services, has given $99 to the reelection bid of city councilman Kevin Faulconer. Other Faulconer money includes $300 from Marco Li Mandri, the subject of conflict-of-interest charges contained in a wrongful termination case filed against the City by fired business improvement district administrator Scott Kessler. Li Mandri ally and real estate man Brian Walsh gave $500. Sandy Kahn, son of the legendary Irvin J. Kahn, who back in the 1960s developed Rancho Peñasquitos and University City with money from the notoriously mobbed-up Teamsters Central States pension fund, gave $250.
