On Friday, July 2, at 10:35 p.m., pedestrians on the boardwalk in Mission Beach had to act quickly to get out of the way as a taxi sped by them.

Yellow Cab number 1013 alarmed dozens of people strolling along Ocean Front Walk near San Juan Place; the cab proceeded north along the boardwalk. The nearest entrance for a vehicle to access the boardwalk is San Luis Obispo Place. The taxi traveled at a high rate of speed along the street that prohibits non-emergency vehicles before exiting on Santa Rita Place.

This is the second time in the past few months that a Yellow Cab has been seen illegally driving on the boardwalk.
