Is Republican mainstay and Chargers owner Alex Gus Spanos really making campaign contributions to liberal Democratic state attorney general Jerry Brown? That’s what it says on a campaign finance filing by Brown last week: a total of $10,000 on April 22 from an A.G. Spanos of Stockton, no occupation provided. Late last year the Spanos family announced that Alex had a form of progressive dementia and would have a diminished role in running the family enterprise.
