Jerry’s favorite

General Atomics megamillionaire Linden Blue and ex–Jerry Sanders chief operating officer Ronne Froman have been an item for more than three years now, showing up together once a month or so in the column of Union-Tribune society writer Burl Stiff. The columnist has reported their presence at events ranging from Marti Emerald’s 50th birthday party in January 2005 to a YMCA salute to retired Copley editor in chief Herb Klein last November. But Stiff is apparently the only U-T scribe to gain access to Froman, a retired rear admiral who bailed from her position as the mayor’s chief operating officer last June in the midst of an in-house investigation of the Sunroad high-rise scandal. Speculation had it that Froman left because she was unhappy with a Sanders-ordered cover-up; Froman herself isn’t talking. But General Atomics’ Blue, who runs the defense contracting company with his brother Neal, remains a Sanders loyalist, kicking in $320 to his campaign on February 26 and March 14 of this year.
