Brian's singsong

Now that Super Tuesday is out of the way, the real business of politics can begin. On February 20, GOP congressman Brian Bilbray, who replaced the ill-fated Randy “Duke” Cunningham, is set to stage a money-raising bash at the La Jolla Marriott, featuring House Republican Leader John Boehner, who “believes that Republicans can earn back the majority in Congress by getting back to their core principles.” A $2300 maximum contribution gets you a “Congressional Circle Private Reception & Photo Opportunity” in addition to lunch. Radio talker and fallen mayor Roger Hedgecock, convicted in a campaign money-laundering case, is set to be master of ceremonies. ... The San Diego county Democratic Party has amended a recent campaign disclosure filing to reveal that it paid Larry Remer’s Primacy Group $7,350.23 to “oppose April Boling” in her run for San Diego city council. The bulk of the money went to a pollster; such expenses are not subject to the city’s campaign limits if they are booked by the party as “member communications.”
