Harmonium

Harmonium, the nonprofit group that runs the Epicentre/San Diego Regional Teen Center on Mira Mesa Boulevard, has let Brian Witkin, 19, owner of Real 2 Reel Records, operate a store in its building, which will be open, starting next Monday, from 3 to 6 p.m. weekdays and during the evening when the Epicentre hosts shows.

Witkin will be selling major-label and indie-label CDs as well as CDs issued by his own Del Mar--based record label, Real 2 Reel (www.real2reelrecords.com), which has released ten different titles, including A Dead Giveaway, Shut Up Sigmund Freud, Sylem, John Preston, and his own band, Warrior Finches.

Witkin says he will rely on an all-volunteer staff at the beginning, and the rent will be paid on a profit-sharing basis. "They get a percentage of my sales."

He said the Epicentre (www.epicentre.org) also maintains its own in-house recording studio, which records live shows and studio sessions.
