Five Thousand Copies of the New

Five thousand copies of the new Reeve Oliver EP CD were bound inside the November issue of Surfer magazine. "Not many indie marketers have been able to pull something like this off," says Devin Johnson, Redroom Recordings marketing director; Redroom is Reeve Oliver's label. "Only the big labels have done bound-in CDs with newsstand magazines.... Our goal is to support the talent we're aligned with on their quest to rock stardom."

Reeve Oliver, a band consisting of ex-Dogwood guitarist Sean O'Donnell, O (from fluf) on bass, and drummer Brad Davis, won Best Rock Album of the Year at the 2003 San Diego Music Awards (despite having only released a six-song EP, The Reeveolution EP). Their debut full-length, self-titled album was released September 21. A video for the song "I Want Burns" features North County's Tony Hawk. The band is currently on a fall tour with Yellowcard.
