“Our music blends our interests in everything from classical and jazz to electronic and independent rock,” according to Headphone, “while the lyrics look at the enigmatic space between connection and detachment, hopefulness and despair.” The band was founded in 2014 by Morgan McRae (who studied piano and business management at St. Louis University) and Philip Cullin. Born in Veracruz, Mexico, Irving Flores is an accomplished pianist, composer, arranger and music producer who spent many years playing keyboards with the Gilbert Castellanos New Latin Jazz Quintet. While a teenager, Irving moved to Mexico City, switching to piano and developing as a composer and arranger, going on to record with and produce Estaban Favela, Sacha Boutros, Brad Steinwehe Jazz Orchestra, Arinda Caballero, and Tania Libertad.
