Geezer is basically a Weezer tribute dressed in senior citizen gear that puts on such an entertaining act that they were invited onstage with Weezer at Cox Arena in 2008. They were nominated as Best Tribute Band at the San Diego Music Awards in 2010 and 2011, and one of their members has gone on to moonlight as the lead singer for Smash Mouth. The bill includes Finding Emo.

Lisa Sanders at UC San Diego Park & Market Feb 13

Jazz singer Lisa Sanders came up via open-mic performances at Java Joe’s and the Metaphor Café before being signed in 1998 by MCA Records. The Intersections Concert Series presents Sanders with her band Brown Sugar, featuring players who’ve opened for Bonnie Raitt, Lucinda Williams, BB King, Dixie Chicks, Sarah McLachlan and more. Local jazz pianist and saxophonist Kamau Kenyatta will host and conduct a Q&A with Sanders after her performance.
