Cast of new Disney live-action remake places third at Comic-Con costume contest

Snow What and the Who?

Critics pointed out that given the actors strike, the cast should not have been in attendance at the Con, but defenders noted that these outfits and actors couldn’t possibly be from a real movie.

“She’s lovely, but honestly, it’s like she’s not even trying,” whispered one of the judges to another at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con Costume Contest as Rachel Zegler hit the stage in her yellow and red ensemble. “That could be a ripped-seam Snuggie she’s wearing as a cloak, and that dress is somehow plain and garish at the same time. Definitely not getting Snow White vibes from this. Maybe Cinderella playing dress up with her sisters’ castoffs?” It’s not clear whether or not the judge knew that Zegler had in fact been cast in the upcoming Disney remake of its famous first feature. Nor was it clear whether her interlocutor knew that the gang of misfits accompanying her had been cast as the seven dwarfs. “Goodness, what a lot of unpleasant patterns and colors,” she hissed. “No wonder they all look so glum. But they had the courage to get up there and try, bless their little hearts, and that counts for something.”
