UCSD students lead charge against colonization

“For much of its history, there were no Jews in La Jolla,” notes Amir Asham, spokesman for UCSD’s Students for Palestinian Promotion. “This is a well documented fact. Realtors who were approached by Jewish settlers would call the Real Estate Broker’s Association, which would see to it that the settlers were told that no properties were available. Real estate agents would place green cards in their cars’ front windows when driving Jewish colonists through La Jolla, in order to alert the locals, and ‘For Sale’ signs were forbidden for the sake of neighborhood purity. But then Roger Revelle convinced the Brokers to break their gentleman’s agreement for the sake of getting a branch of the UC system. ‘You can’t have a university without having Jewish professors,’ he told them. And they yielded. But now we know better. Thanks to the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, we know that it is not only possible to have a university without Zionist oppressors — it is necessary. Look at any map of Occupied Palestine, and then look at a map of La Jolla. The similarities are both obvious and ominous. Then look at the lies that UCSD’s Jewish students tell: that the police were called to escort them from a meeting, a meeting held in a tower high above the pro-Palestine protestors gathered below. Yes, security escorted them from the building, but no police were ever called. Ask yourself: who drew those poop swastikas in campus bathrooms last May? Who vandalized the ‘positive Jewish messages’ on campus when Hamas supporter Taher Herzallah spoke here? Who famously claims victim status even as they hold a community hostage, telling them they cannot have a university unless they accept colonization? The answer is clear, as is the solution.”
