As a kid growing up in San Diego, I went to one of those surf clinics at the Shores to learn how to surf.

What has been your favorite surf moment so far?

Just the other day I saw a bunch of dolphins. That was really cool.

Do you have a favorite surf spot in San Diego?

I really like Fletcher’s Cove.

Do you ever experience sexism in water?

No, the only inequality I experience is that I am an extreme amateur. People yell at me sometimes, but only because I am in the way.

Have you had any scary moments while surfing?

There have been times where I have been close to drowning when I have gotten caught in a rip.

What do you love the most about surfing?

Being in the water and hanging out with friends.
