Rejoinder to homeless defender

San Diego County ranks as one of the worst anywhere

San Diegans who live in their vehicles say the city has implemented new measures in its fight against so-called “van life” and the habitation of vehicles.

Uptrending judgmental attitude

I would like to comment on a letter to the editor that appeared in this week’s issue written by John Harrington of Escondido (“Don’t kick San Diego RV dwellers when they’re down,” Letters, January 6). Apparently John has taken the time and trouble to comment on another letter [by] a nurse named Jane who was attacking a lady who’s living in her RV on the streets of San Diego county. Apparently the nurse was really, really [conducting] a very vicious attack on this person living in their RV, and I want to take the time to applaud Mr. Harrington of Escondido for speaking out against this sort of attack.

This bad attitude toward the less fortunate and the judgmental attitude may be why San Diego County ranks as one of the worst for the homeless anywhere. Other communities around America have found ways to treat their homeless population like the people and the citizens that they are, but apparently this is not the trend here in San Diego. Whatever the case is, this naughty nurse Jane is not someone whose patient I would wanna be. Thanks again [to] John Harrington for bringing this up.
