High tide or not, the picture is telling

The passing of Roam-a-Rama

"These homeowners had carte blanche" (Drone photo taken July 20)

Surf’s up

In reference to Tony Marinucci’s Letter to the Editor regarding “misleading” readers (“Deceptive Oceanside photos,” Letters, December 18), I’m sure most know I have no control over what photos are included with published articles. The photo was one of many shots of the entire Oceanside coastline taken on July 30, 2019, and shortly after the unpermitted work was completed. The time of the shot sequence was not determined by a high tide rather the availability of the drone operator. Having said that, one must agree, the picture (high tide or not) is quite telling as to the state of our shoreline and access to it.

RIP Roamers

After Jerry Schad’s passing, the San Diego Natural History Museum Canyoneers stepped up to carry on this valuable feature of your magazine. Now that the Canyoneers will no longer provide their expertise to this article; what is the future of Roam-O-Rama? I, like many others, look forward to these stories each week. What’s next?
