“I started surfing when I was a 23-year-old, but I got better when I moved to California from Mar De Plata, Argentina, because the surf here in the Pacific has more consistent swells and it’s generally warmer.”

Florencia’s local beach is Windansea, but she frequents PB often. “We see dolphins all the time here in PB.

“I love Bali, Uluwatu. It had been my dream to go there. And Fiji in Cloudbreak has world-class waves, but I have good surf here, in PB, Windansea, Grand View, and up in Malibu.

“I was surfing PB point on a big day and Skip Frye was out there, surfing over there with the blue board. He’s 76 and he keeps surfing all the time every day for two or three hours. He saw me surfing with his board and he called me to congratulate me, and he shaped me a board as a gift.”
