Fights, jet ski collision, overloaded dinghy, graffiti at Hilton

Harbor Police responded to Marina Cortez [Harbor Island] for two subjects physically fighting. Harbor Police found one of the subjects pushed the other into the water. Both subjects declined to press charges on each other. Harbor Police documented the incident.

Harbor Police contacted a subject on the Harbor Hopper dock next to Tuna Harbor. During the contact, they discovered the subject had broken a lock to uncover an outlet, plugged in a power strip and had several items plugged into it. The subject was issued a citation for theft of services.

Harbor Police responded to the Laurel Street A-3 Anchorage for the report of a disturbance and found two neighbors were having an argument about a dinghy and were being verbally abusive to each other. Harbor Police documented the incident and the neighbors went their separate ways.

Harbor Police began a campaign to target illegal charters around San Diego Bay. Harbor Police officers handed out pamphlets of information to marinas and their tenants and will be continuing this for several weeks. Harbor Police will also be targeting the charters in and around San Diego Bay while partnering with the US Coast Guard through the summer months.

Harbor Police were dispatched to the area of Harbor Island for a Jet Ski collision with several people in the water. Harbor Police found two rented jet skis collided, causing serious injuries to one of the operators. Harbor Police transported the subject/s back to the dock for an awaiting ambulance.

Harbor Police responded to the report of a vessel adrift near center bay. Harbor Police located a small dinghy and stored it at the impound dock.

Harbor Police stopped a small dinghy that appeared to be overloaded and unstable in the rough conditions. Harbor Police found none of the subjects aboard had life preservers and terminated their trip, and then escorted them back to the dock and took one subject into custody for having an outstanding warrant.

Harbor Police located an adrift dinghy near the Coast Guard station. The dinghy was towed and stored at the impound dock.

Harbor Police responded to the area of the Broadway Pier for a report of someone throwing a bicycle into the bay. Harbor Police located a subject that matched the description and conducted an investigation.

Harbor Police responded to the Hilton Hotel to investigate a report of vandalism. Someone had spray-painted graffiti on the seawall in front of the hotel.
