Mission Accomplished

Migrant caravan prepares to return home after successful 3700km fundraising walk

Tired but exultant migrants celebrate the completion of their walk at the finish-line tent, where they were given bread, water, and sweet swag like t-shirts and headbands.

THE BORDER — “Well, we did it,” said Caminar Por La Cura migrant caravan organizer Susan K. Roamin. “We walked all the way from Honduras to the border between Mexico and the United States, and in so doing, raised both awareness of the violence and poverty in our native country and millions of dollars to help alleviate those problems. Now we can return to our homes, secure in the knowledge that we can achieve any goal we put our minds to, and hopeful for a brighter tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who did so much to spread the word about our important mission, especially President Donald Trump, who kept us in the forefront of everyone’s mind during a tumultuous election that threatened to prove a serious distraction.”
