Theft and vandalism monopolize Harbor Patrol's time last week

June 15 

— HP investigated a burglary that occurred on a commercial fishing vessel in north SD Bay where unknown subjects broke into the vessel, damaging it and taking a few items. HP is still investigating and viewing video surveillance.

June 13 

— HP responded to a south bay marina to investigate a domestic violence call. One of the subjects was arrested for battery and taken to jail; the other refused any medical attention.

June 12

— HP issued a citation for a boater that was anchored in the A— 1 Anchorage without a valid permit.

—  HP responded to a north bay marina to investigate a burglary that occurred when an unknown suspect/s broke into a vessel and stole property. HP is still investigating.

June 11

—  HP issued a citation for a boater that was illegally moored in the HPD Guest slips without a permit.

June 8

—  HP responded to the HPD Guest Slips to investigate a small fuel sheen on the water. Notifications were made to all responsible agencies for further investigation and clean— up.

—  HP Investigated a theft where a lock/chain was cut and a small vessel was taken from a Harbor Island marina. HPD is still investigating the crime.

June 6

—  HP impounded a small sailboat that was found near the rip rap rocks along Shelter Island.

June 5

—  HP responded to a Shelter Island Marina to investigate a vandalism and theft of some items from a vessel. It was found that the suspect in this case was a person the victim had a relationship with.
