Otay motherlode: pounds of heroin, coke, fentanyl...

Oscar Vasquez-Alamilla, a Spring Valley resident, pleaded guilty in federal court today (December 7th) to smuggling narcotics through the Otay Mesa Port of Entry.

He was using the Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Response Inspection, or SENTRI lanes. These allow expedited clearance for pre-approved travelers upon entry into the United States and allow such travelers to use dedicated lanes into the U.S.

He pleaded guilty to importing 24.74 pounds of cocaine, 12.68 pounds of fentanyl, 13.71 pounds of heroin, and more than 7000 pills marked as oxycodone.

As a lawful resident of the United States, he acknowledged in federal court that he may be deported to Mexico.
